What exactly is NiMH?
All of the batteries shown below are nickel-metal hydride, or NiMH batteries.
These batteries are only a few pounds more expensive than disposable alkalines, but they will last far longer in most gadgets.
Because the voltage of a NiMH battery is maintained at 1.2V for the majority of its operational period, they’ll do so more efficiently.
Alkaline batteries, on the other hand, have a voltage that decreases as they are used.
Lithium-ion batteries, which are only now becoming accessible in AA capacities, should be much better at sustaining voltage.
They are now more expensive, and their capacities and running times aren’t quite as good as the finest AAs.
Panasonic, Duracell, and EverReady, for example, don’t appear to be in a hurry to release Li-ion products.

This is how a NiMH battery’s capacity and ability to operate a particular load for a longer period of time is measured.
In general, the greater the battery’s number, the larger its capacity and the longer it will operate.
Choose batteries with a capacity of 1,900mAh or more to avoid having to recharge them as frequently.
Because the mAh value may not be visible on the box, verify the listing’s specifications first.
