Buying A New Greenworks Cordless Mower? We Can Help You Make The Right Choice

Greenworks G40LM41K2x Cordless Mower

The Greenworks G40LM41K2x is a cordless lawn mower with a 41cm deck that covers lawns up to 600m2 and 5 cutting heights ranging from 25mm to 80mm.
This Greenworks cordless lawn mower has a large 50-litre grass collection box, charges in 30 minutes, has a run time of up to 30 minutes per 2.0Ah battery, and can mulch the lawn clippings.

The Greenworks 40V Cordless Lawn Mower 41cm is one of the best-selling cordless lawn mowers in the UK, but is it really all that good?

Why has this Greenworks G40LM41K2x mower been selling so well in the UK?

Because it is simply excellent value for money, and it competes well with the likes of Bosch and Worx!
Mulching lawn cuttings is becoming increasingly popular, and this mower comes standard with a mulching plug.
This is an extra cost with Bosch mowers and is not available with the Worx cordless mower.

But, I hear you say, what about quality?

I’m not going to pretend that the materials and build quality are as good as Bosch’s, but this mower is perfectly adequate for getting the job done effectively and efficiently at a reasonable price.

Below, I’ll go over all of the Greenworks 41cm 40V’s features and functions, both good and bad.
I’ll also go over the various battery options and their model numbers so you know exactly what you’re getting for your money.

The number of cutting heights is five (25mm-80mm)

Capacity of the grass box: 50 litres

Greenworks G40LM41K2x Power System Specifications

The Greenworks 41cm, like many cordless lawn mowers, is powered by a Lithium-ion battery (40V) and an electrical motor that charges in about 30 minutes per 2.0Ah battery.
Both batteries combined can cover a lawn area of up to 600m2.
With all Greenworks mowers, swapping out the batteries is quick and simple.

Before we go any further, there are three options to consider when purchasing this Greenworks 41cm cordless mower.

The model under consideration in this review is the Greenworks G40LM41K2x, which comes with two 2.0Ah batteries.
There is, however, the option of purchasing a single battery or a bare tool with no batteries.
The model numbers that show these options and differences are listed below.

Greenworks G40LM41K2x Battery = 40V 2 x 2Ah

Greenworks G40LM41K2 Battery = 40V 1 x 2Ah

Greenworks 2504707 = No Batteries Included (Tool Only)

This mower’s Greenworks G-MAX 40V 2Ah battery and charger are compatible with all Greenworks G-MAX 40V tools.
These batteries are interchangeable and will power your Greenworks G-Max 40V hedge cutter, chainsaw, trimmer, cultivator, and leaf blower.

The battery level indicator can be seen while mowing, letting you know when it’s time to swap out the batteries; you’d think this would be standard on all cordless mowers, but it’s not.

In summary, the Greenworks 41cm will provide the same mowing time (per 2.0Ah battery) as the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 Li, but it will charge in half the time.
If you’re cutting thick, long, or damp grass on the lowest setting, don’t expect the batteries to last as long as they should.
However, this cordless mower is powerful and will cut just fine if you start at a higher height and work your way down.

The great thing about all of these cordless lawn mowers is that you can start working at any time of day without disturbing your family or neighbours because the mowers are extremely quiet.
With zero emissions, they also protect the environment.

Mower Blade

The Greenworks 40V Mower has a 41cm cutting width and a single metal rotary blade that offers the following advantages:

The blade has a 41cm cutting width that extends all the way to the mower’s edge.

Metal blades generally wear out faster than plastic blades, requiring you to replace the lawn mower blades less frequently.

Metal blades are sharper and provide a cleaner cut to the grass blade, resulting in a neater, tidier, and superior finish to your lawn and garden.
Unlike plastic blades, the Greenworks 40V’s metal blades can be sharpened when necessary.

Whether you’re collecting clippings or mulching, this Greenworks 41cm mower cuts very well.

Greenworks 41cm Height Adjustment Review

You can adjust the height at which the Greenworks G40LM41K2x Cordless Lawn Mower cuts to cut effectively on lawns of varying lengths and conditions.

You may have noticed that this mower lacks a visible lever.
That’s because this mower features a fantastic push button height adjustment system found on the more expensive range of new Bosch mowers.
Simply push the button and the mower will rise to the desired height. To lower the mower, simply press the button and push down on the mower to the desired height.
Greenworks has adjusted all four wheels at the same time.

This may not seem like a big deal, but you’d be surprised how many mowers I’ve tested where the height adjustment is awkward and difficult.

With 5 distinct cutting heights, you will be able to cut from 25mm to 80mm.
When compared to the Flymo, this allows for more cutting options.

To preserve battery run-time, as previously stated, simply do not set it to the lowest setting when the lawn has significant growth; instead, start at a higher setting and gradually work your way down.
This allows the short grass to catch up to the long grass, resulting in a more even and lush lawn.

Diameter of the Cut

The cutting diameter of this Greenworks G40LM41K2x mower is 41cm, which is a mid-sized deck, but it is 11cm larger than the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 Li while remaining small enough to manoeuvre around tricky areas of your lawn.
This deck size is ideal because it is large enough to get the job done quickly but not so large that it becomes cumbersome and difficult to manoeuvre.

The Greenworks cordless mower may be the best option for you if you need a lightweight mower that can mow your lawn in the shortest amount of time.

Capacity of the Grass Box

This mower’s grass collection box is a very respectable 50 litres, allowing for longer periods of use without having to empty the grass clippings as frequently.

The Greenworks’ grass box is very simple to remove.
There are no obstructions in the grass clippings box.

The only minor drawback to this grass collection box is the lack of a flap indicator that indicates when the collection box is full.
The reason for this is that the collection bag is entirely made of cloth.

The lack of power cords, as with all cordless lawn mowers, will make lawn care much easier and more enjoyable.
Because you will not be struggling with a heavy and oversized lawn mower, the entire experience will be quiet and hassle-free.

This mower’s handles, as well as the grass collection bag, fold flat, reducing storage space and making transportation easier.

The fact that this Greenworks G40LM41K2x mower comes with a mulching plug means you can immediately reap the benefits of being able to mulch your lawn.

Is this making it more practical than its closest competitor?
Yes, I believe it does for people with medium-sized lawns who want the option to mulch, and all at a very reasonable price.

The roller (Stripes)

Do you like striped grass?
Sorry, but the Greenworks Lawn Mower does not have a rear roller.

Greenworks includes a mulching blade and plug with all of their cordless mowers as standard, whereas other brands charge extra for this feature.
The Greenworks mower appears to do this very well, owing to its metal blade, which produces a fine and very small mulch that aids soil condition.

Overall, this is an excellent mower, with a large deck and features that will make cutting your lawn a breeze.
The simple height adjustment, mulching capability, ability to exchange batteries in other Greenworks tools, and, most importantly, the excellent value for money make this mower an excellent investment.

The Greenworks 41cm is very capable of cutting varying lengths and thicknesses of grass, which is very impressive for such a lightweight cordless mower.
Yes, there are a few niggles, such as the lack of a grass box level indicator and the lack of a roller for that striped lawn appearance.
However, these minor flaws do not detract from the fact that this mower represents excellent value for money and is backed by a two-year warranty.

This mower includes features that are normally found in higher-priced cordless mowers, so it is a very reasonable price for such a well-performing, durable, and dependable lawn mover.

But do I believe it is superior to its main competitors?

I certainly do!

At this price point, this mower represents excellent value for money, and it would be difficult to find a cordless mower that performs as well as this one and has such a high build quality at a lower price.

Don’t forget that recharging the battery takes only 30 minutes, and you get two with this mower.
You complete the job quickly and in one session (under 600m2), giving you more time to relax and enjoy your beautiful lawn!

Greenworks is quickly making a name for themselves in the UK, proving to be a dependable and cost-effective brand.
